Hotel Gletschergarten in Grindelwald

The traditional Chalet-Hotel Gletschergarten is more than 115 years old and the Michel family runs the house already in the 4th generation. The hotel offers you panoramic mountain views and in winter with good snow conditions, a ski run leads almost to the entrance of the hotel.

Enjoy our daily breakfast buffet every morning in our restaurant. After a day outside you can relax at the cozy fireplace in our lounge and for our hotel guests, we offer half board service, including a 4-course dinner, on demand.

A free pick-up service from the railway or bus station is offered. The Grindelwald First Cable Car Station is reachable within just a few minutes' walk, and the bus stop is just 20 m away from the Gletschergarten Hotel.

Further free time activities can be organised by the help of our staff. The hotel also has a renovated wellness area with sauna and steam bath.

On top, we provide free access to the sports centre of Grindelwald for our guests, which features an indoor pool and an ice skating rink. Various tickets and ski passes can be bought at the regular rates from the reception.

Restaurant at Hotel Gletschergarten

In our cosy dining room we serve you a delicious 4-course-dinner every evening. The atmosphere is unique in all of our dining rooms, the glacier and mountain view in the "Sunnestube"or the "Mittellegistuba" or the rustic alpine cottage atmosphere in the "Rotmoosstuba".

Our meals are freshly cooked every day by our chef de cuisine, François Rollot, and his team using regional products. If we did not meet with your personal taste or if you have special wishes like vegetarian food or allergies, we try our best, if possible, to alter your dinner accordingly.

Wellness at the Gletschergarten

Unwind in our newly renovated Wellness area after a long skiing or hiking day. We have a steam bath, a sauna/sanarium and a very cosy relaxation room. The Spa area is situated in the basement of the hotel and easily accessible by lift.

During the renovation we put our focus on natural local ressources such as oak and swiss mountain pine wood which have been integrated in all rooms of our Wellness zone. Sauna and steam bath are naked zones and therefore only for use by adults.
